QUIET THE NOISE • STEADY YOUR MIND
EASE THE EMOTIONAL TURBULENCE
The Inner Practice
Yoga for the Mind
Private, one-to-one sessions to work directly with a spinning mind and difficult emotions.
No mat, no postures, just the direct work with your own mind.
What is the Inner Practice?
If your mind keeps looping, worries won’t settle, or you feel emotionally stuck, this is where that changes.
Most of us deal with difficult emotions by pushing them down, distracting ourselves, trying to think our way out of it – it works, until it doesn’t.
In this work, we don’t analyse the past or unpick your story. We stay with what’s actually here, right now, and learn to see it clearly rather than be driven by it.
The tools are practical and usable in real life, not just in sessions, but in the moment when life gets messy.
This isn’t therapy. This isn’t life coaching. This is Yoga for the Mind, direct, practical, and grounded in decades of teaching and personal practice.
Is this you?
CHALLENGES & FRUSTRATIONS
You wake up determined, but end up circling the same thoughts again.
You’re strong on the outside, but inside the same doubts, the same overwhelm, the same patterns keep showing up no matter what you try.
You’ve tried therapy, self-help books, meditation apps. They help, for a while.
You want something that goes deeper and actually stays.
This is exactly what this work is for.
What we do together
Over nearly three decades of teaching, I’ve developed a direct approach to working with the mind, practical, grounded, and usable in everyday life.
In our sessions we work with what’s actually present: a restless mind, a difficult emotion, a pattern that keeps repeating.
We use breathwork, mindfulness, and self-enquiry not as concepts to understand, but as tools to apply in the moment.
You’ll learn to stay with difficult emotions rather than avoid them, not by force, but by understanding what’s actually happening. That’s where things shift.
Your emotions are messengers, when you learn to listen, they become your greatest resource.
Testimonials
“I can feel the difference in how I see myself dealing with all these things that are life. I haven’t changed dramatically, I’m still me, struggling with many of the same things. But I’m able to observe myself more, and to create more distance before I lose myself in the chaos of thoughts and anxiety.
I don’t feel like I have no control anymore. I have more clarity, and a feeling of being a bit more in charge of what I choose to engage in and what I let go.
It’s a subtle, huge change. Thank you for being so steady, and for asking me the right questions.”
– Kjersti Innjord
“As a medical-legal advisor with a background in medicine, I approached these sessions with initial scepticism. After two months, the benefits have exceeded my expectations.”
“The mental and emotional changes have been the most significant for me. I’ve learned so much about myself, my reactions, and how to observe and navigate life’s challenges.”

My journey to this work
I’ve been drawn to how the mind works for as long as I can remember. Meditation and spirituality found me in my teens. Yoga, for me, was never just physical, it was always also about what happens when fear shows up in a posture, when doubt creeps in, when the mind resists.
A few years ago, my life became genuinely difficult. There were periods when getting on the mat wasn’t possible for me, when sitting for meditation wasn’t an option. I had to find another way to bring everything I’d learnt into the ordinary moments, the messy ones, the ones without ideal conditions.
That’s what this work is – not practice for when life is calm, practice for when it isn’t.

Student stories
“The mental and emotional changes have been the most significant for me. I’ve learned so much about myself, my reactions, and how to observe and help myself navigate life’s challenges.”
I first met Catherine almost two years ago when she was replacing an Ashtanga yoga teacher. What immediately drew me to her was her kind, genuine approach when explaining poses and modifications to students. I felt comfortable asking questions repeatedly when needed, which was important since I was in a vulnerable state and seeking support.
I had no hesitations about starting sessions with Catherine – I was curious and eager to begin this journey. While I didn’t notice immediate changes in the first few sessions, everything began to shift through Catherine’s patient, step-by-step guidance, meaningful discussions, explanations, and repetitions. A new world started to open up – easier breathing, better sleep, feeling more grounded, and simply feeling better overall.
Over these past months, my entire life has changed for the better. I particularly love the Yoga Sutras teachings and meditation practices. The mental and emotional changes have been the most significant for me. I’ve learned so much about myself, my reactions, and how to observe and help myself navigate life’s challenges.
What I value most about working with Catherine is her openness to discuss my struggles without judgment. She always knows the right approach to support me and is consistently there when I need guidance. One of the most surprising discoveries has been learning that ‘the mind will always get you in trouble; the mind will never get you out of trouble.’
Today, I am much more grounded, at peace, sleeping well, and genuinely enjoying my meditation practice. To anyone considering working with Catherine: please try and give yourself time to experience the process. Trust Catherine – she really knows how to help you find your way. I know I’m still at the beginning of my journey, but I love it, and I’m grateful to continue receiving her teachings.
“I’ve developed a greater ability to manage negative emotions without impulsive reactions. My sleep quality has improved substantially, and I maintain a lasting sense of clarity throughout my days.”
Working with Catherine has been a truly transformative experience that began with a simple recommendation from my doctor to explore yoga breathing exercises.
As a medical-legal advisor with a background in medicine, I approached these sessions with initial scepticism, but Catherine’s organised and methodical approach immediately put me at ease and inspired confidence.
The impact of our work together has been profound and multi-faceted. In the early sessions, I was amazed by how quickly the breathwork techniques began to affect my well-being. Catherine provided me with recordings of Meditations, Yoga Nidra and Body Scan practices, which proved invaluable for managing anxiety.
As we progressed, I discovered the powerful effects of Ujjayi breathing, which has become my favourite practice – offering me precious moments of peace and self-connection.
After two months of practice, the benefits have exceeded my expectations. My blood pressure has shown improvement, and I’ve developed a greater ability to manage negative emotions without impulsive reactions.
Perhaps most significantly, my sleep quality has improved substantially, and I maintain a lasting sense of clarity throughout my days.
What truly sets Catherine apart is her ability to tailor her approach to individual needs.
She combines extensive expertise with genuine kindness and good humour, creating an environment where personal growth flourishes.
I’ve been particularly struck by the deep connection between breath, mind, and body – discovering that yoga extends far beyond physical postures into profound practices of self-discovery and mental wellness.
For anyone considering working with Catherine, her versatile approach and deep understanding of both the physical and mental aspects of wellness make her an exceptional guide for anyone’s journey.
Through her guidance, I’ve learned to recognise my true self beneath layers of thoughts, and I continue to be amazed by the profound impact these practices have on both my physical and mental well-being.
Personal note
After 25+ years of this inner work, I’ve learned that change is always possible. The techniques I share aren’t theoretical – they’re what has worked for me and my students.
My role isn’t to fix you or give you answers. It’s to help you remember what you already know, deep down.
This work isn’t about becoming a different person. It’s about becoming who you really are when you’re not being run by old emotional patterns and limiting beliefs.
FAQ
“How is that different from therapy?”
We’re not interested in the past. We don’t go into your story or explore why you are the way you are.
We work with what’s actually here, what your mind is doing today, what’s coming up in your life right now. My approach is rooted in ancient practices that have worked directly with the mind for thousands of years.
“I’ve tried courses and self-help before. Why would this be any different?”
This work shifts something fundamental, it’s not about intellectual understanding of your thoughts and emotions, but also emotional intelligence, how you relate to them.
The practices are not done separated from life, they are applied in real life, in the actual moments when it matters.
It’s not a quick fix. It’s a practice that gradually becomes part of how you live your life. You forget the practice, you remember, you forget again, but over time the remembering gets quicker. You move from autopilot into more conscious living, from being ruled by circumstances into choices you make.
That’s what makes it last.
“Do I need any experience in meditation, mindfulness or yoga?”
No. You don’t need any background in any of these practices. This work is practical and grounded in everyday life. You bring what’s actually happening for you, and we work from there.
“I can’t meditate. I can’t sit still.”
Good. This work meets you exactly where you are.
We start by calming the nervous system, not as a spiritual exercise, but as a practical first step. When there’s less noise, there’s more space for something new to enter.
The practices are short and usable in real life. Sometimes a few seconds is enough. You don’t need ideal conditions, a quiet room, or the ability to sit still. You just need to show up as you are.
“What if it gets too much?”
These are private, one-to-one sessions and we work entirely at your pace. There is no pressure, no fixed goal, no expectation of where you should be.
I will nudge you when it feels right, but nothing is forced.
“How do I know if I’m ready for this?”
Are we ever truly ready? Is there ever a perfect time?
This work is designed for when life is messy, when your mind is spinning, when you feel stuck or are running on autopilot, when circumstances are dictating your life rather than your choices.
If you’re longing for space in your head, space to actually create your life rather than just react to it, that’s enough. That’s the starting point.
